AGROWORLD QAZAQSTAN AND COLDCHAIN QAZAQSTAN 2025 OPENED IN ALMATY: OVER 170 PARTICIPANTS FROM 25 COUNTRIES PRESENTED INNOVATIONS FOR AGRICULTURE AND COLD STORAGE

On October 29 in Almaty, in two pavilions of the Atakent Exhibition Center, the grand opening of the 19th Central Asian International Exhibition "Agriculture" AGROWORLD QAZAQSTAN 2025 and the 9th Central Asian International Exhibition "Cold Storage, Transportation, and Service for Cold Logistics" COLDCHAIN QAZAQSTAN 2025 took place.

This significant event in the agro-industrial complex gathered leading producers, suppliers, and experts from various countries, providing a unique opportunity for experience exchange and discussion of current trends.
This year, the exhibition brought together 174 participants from 25 countries, including Austria, Belarus, Belgium, Hungary, Germany, Georgia, Denmark, Israel, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, China, Latvia, the Netherlands, Poland, Serbia, the USA, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, South Korea, and Japan. The exhibition features 43 companies from Kazakhstan and 131 international participants. Traditionally, the exposition includes national stands from Germany, the Netherlands, South Korea, with regional stands representing China and Russia. It is important to note that 33 companies are participating in AgroWorld Qazaqstan for the first time, indicating the ongoing interest of new entrepreneurs from around the world ready to participate in the development of agriculture in Kazakhstan.
The first day of the AgroWorld Qazaqstan 2025 exhibition opened a panorama of modern technologies for the agro-industrial complex to the professional community. The exposition presents all solutions — from irrigation and fertilization systems to digital solutions for monitoring and automating processes. Participants demonstrated innovations in livestock, poultry, crop production, processing and storage of agricultural products, as well as farm equipment and veterinary solutions.
This year, special emphasis is placed on sustainable agriculture, which is becoming a priority direction for the industry's development in the context of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy.
Traditionally, poultry farming remains a significant segment of the exposition: more than 25 companies from 15 countries presented advanced technologies for feeding, incubation, processing, and quality control. This platform became a meeting and negotiation place between Kazakh and foreign producers, discussing new partnerships and investment projects.
The Kingdom of the Netherlands once again plays an important role in the exhibition, becoming a key partner of the event. This year, 28 Dutch companies are participating, of which 14 represent the national exposition. Dutch participants brought solutions aimed at energy-efficient production and digitization of agro-processes, demonstrating a comprehensive approach to sustainable agricultural development.

The business program of the first day began with a discussion of key issues in the agro-industrial complex in Central Asia. During the Plenary Session "Main Issues of the Agro-Industrial Complex in Central Asia: Challenges and Partnerships," experts discussed effective water resource management strategies, barriers to processing development, tools for attracting investments in the agro-sector, technological solutions for transforming the agro-industrial complex, and strategic partnerships for sustainable development. Speakers included Aslan Abdraimov, Vice Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Ari Veldhuizen, Advisor on Agriculture, Fisheries, Food Security, and Nature, Embassy of the Netherlands in Central Asia; Rustam Baltabaev, Executive Director of the Association for the Development of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Kyrgyz Republic; Anastasia Kromiadi, Commercial Director of ATEK KZ.
The plenary session became not only an expert discussion platform but also a space for experience exchange between representatives of government structures, business, and international organizations. Participants noted the importance of such events, where it is possible to establish direct dialogue, share successful practices, and jointly seek solutions for sustainable development of the region's agricultural sector.
Aslan Abdraimov emphasized the importance of rational water resource use: "Today's session is of particular importance to us, considering the increasingly relevant issue of water scarcity, the introduction of modern technologies in the field of irrigation is one of our Ministry's priority tasks." In his speech, the Vice Minister noted: "Kazakhstan is currently experiencing an important stage in the development of the water sector. We are implementing a large-scale transformation of the water management industry, focusing efforts on several priority areas: improving the regulatory framework, comprehensive modernization of water management infrastructure, introducing advanced water-saving technologies, digitizing water accounting and distribution, forming an effective tariff policy, and strengthening transboundary cooperation with neighboring countries. We have adopted a new Water Code, a Concept for the Development of the Water Resources Management System of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2030, and a Comprehensive Plan for the Development of the Water Sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2024-2028, as well as a Roadmap for water conservation in all sectors of the economy."

Ari Veldhuizen noted the necessity of strengthening international cooperation and implementing innovations: "The Netherlands and Kazakhstan are partners, we already have successful experience in the agro-sector. Together we will sign a memorandum of cooperation aimed at developing and professionalizing the agricultural sector in Kazakhstan. After all, we have a shared responsibility to create sustainable food systems worldwide. Today it is important to create conditions for knowledge exchange, joint educational programs, and the implementation of advanced technologies that will help make agriculture more sustainable and profitable." In turn, Rustam Baltabaev spoke about successful joint work with the Ministry of Agriculture, resulting in the signing of the President's Decree on additional development of the agro-industrial complex of the Kyrgyz Republic, including 30 directions. "To date, Kyrgyzstan provides 6 out of 9 key food products – 74% self-sufficiency. The agro-industrial complex is defined as a national priority. Strategically, by 2030, it is planned to double the export of agricultural products, and by 2040 to reach a 50% threshold in agricultural product processing, as well as triple foreign investments in the agro-industrial complex," he noted.
The plenary session concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the participation of speakers and organizers, marking the official opening of the exhibition, followed by a tour of the exposition. Honored guests were able to engage in live dialogue with major domestic and international exhibitors.
Continuing the program, a Specialized Seminar "Dutch Solutions and Innovations for Your Poultry Business" was held in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Kazakhstan and the Dutch Poultry Center. The Dairy Farming School also began its work in partnership with DairyNews. At the workshop, speakers shared their professional knowledge and practical experience on innovations in dairy farming — from the latest herd management technologies and process automation to genetics and animal health issues.

The second day of the exhibition, October 30, promises equally interesting events, including the trend session "AgroFuture: Climate Initiatives and Sustainable Agricultural Development," the expert session UniVet "Poultry Gut Health," and the real business discussion "Horticulture and Berry Projects: From Business Idea to Added Value." The "Farmers' School" workshop will continue its work, providing participants the opportunity to study the best cases in herd management, genetics, and rational animal feeding.
The exhibition is organized by the Kazakhstan Exhibition Company Iteca and its international partner – ICA Events Group.
