KAZAKHSTAN’S POLYMER INDUSTRY: NEW OPPORTUNITIES FOR PRODUCTION, PROCESSING AND COOPERATION AT PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2026

FROM 21 TO 23 OCTOBER 2026 IN KAZAKHSTAN’S SOUTHERN CAPITAL, AT THE ATAKENT EXHIBITION CENTRE, THE 2ND INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PLASTICS, POLYMERS AND THE CHEMICAL INDUSTRY — PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2026 — WILL TAKE PLACE, BRINGING TOGETHER MANUFACTURERS, SUPPLIERS OF RAW MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGIES, PROCESSORS AND INDUSTRY SPECIALISTS.

This year, companies from Kazakhstan, India, China, Russia, Türkiye and Uzbekistan will take part in the exhibition. The international composition of exhibitors reflects growing interest in the Kazakhstani market and creates conditions for the development of professional contacts, technology exchange and industrial cooperation in the region. In 2025, the exhibition was visited by more than 1,000 specialists, with 44 companies participating.

Against the backdrop of industry development, the exhibition’s business programme is gaining particular importance. Its central theme will be the transition from launching petrochemical production facilities to manufacturing high value-added products. This topic will be addressed at the extended plenary session “Kazakhstan’s Polymer Industry: From Launching Petrochemical Production Facilities to High Value-Added Products”. Experts will discuss raw material supply for processing industries, investment opportunities, state support measures and promising areas of deep processing.

From strategic issues of industry development, the business programme will move on to specific areas of industrial localisation. Within the session “Localisation of Polymer Automotive Components: New Materials, Technologies and Supply Chains”, participants will consider the potential for producing polymer automotive components in Kazakhstan, prospects for exporting them to the markets of Central Asia and the EAEU, as well as the necessary conditions for creating a new manufacturing sector.

This agenda will be continued by the session “Construction Chemicals and Polymers as Part of Kazakhstan’s Industrial and Infrastructure Policy”, which will focus on increasing the share of domestic chemical materials and polymer products in construction, creating guaranteed demand through infrastructure projects and public procurement, as well as expanding the use of modern polymer solutions in construction and utilities.

A separate programme block will be devoted to the processing and efficient use of polymer raw materials. On the second day, the session “Economics of Plastics Recycling in Kazakhstan”, will take place. During the session, experts will discuss the provision of stable volumes of secondary raw materials to enterprises and the formation of an economically sustainable system for their collection and preparation.

The business programme will be complemented by a foresight block with conclusions, the official opening ceremony of the exhibition and an overview VIP tour of the exposition, enabling participants to combine expert discussion of current issues with direct familiarisation with the technologies and solutions on display.

A broad range of experts will help connect the strategic and practical agenda of the industry: the discussion will involve representatives of government agencies, oil and gas and chemical companies, industry associations and business, including the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, JSC NC KazMunayGas, Kazakhstan Petrochemical Industries Inc., PJSC SIBUR Holding, PetroCouncil, Polymer Market and KAZCHEMISTRY.

Plastex Qazaqstan 2026 will bring together key participants of the polymer and chemical industries on one platform to discuss their further development — from raw material supply and production localisation to deep processing, technological modernisation and expanded international cooperation.
