In his welcoming speech, Mukhamed Zadinovich Andakov, Deputy Chairman of the Committee of Industry, noted: “Kazakhstan is developing actively, and I believe that at this exhibition everyone will find their partners, successfully conclude agreements and promote their products in new areas that will be applied at construction sites. The share of domestic production of construction materials has increased by 8 percentage points over the past five years and exceeded 70% — Kazakhstan is increasingly becoming self-sufficient in construction materials. Nevertheless, there is still room for growth: the market is worth USD 4.2 billion, and according to official statistics, approximately USD 1.2 billion accounts for imported products. We invite everyone interested in establishing themselves in Kazakhstan and selling their products here.” These figures confirm the sustainable development of domestic production and the continued potential of Kazakhstan’s construction market for new technologies, suppliers and business cooperation.
The plenary discussion focused on key changes in the regulation of Kazakhstan’s construction industry: the first results of implementing the new Construction Code, tax reform, the transition to BIM, improvements to the control and expertise system, workforce issues and the digitalization of design processes. Particular attention was paid to the use of artificial intelligence tools and the adaptation of businesses to new requirements.
The professional dialogue of the first day continued with the HD Magazine panel session, «Blue-green infrastructure of Central Asia: new markets for development, engineering and investments» Experts discussed water resource management, nature-based engineering solutions, the investment potential of blue-green infrastructure and modern sustainable construction standards.

A separate focus of the first day was dedicated to the professional community of the window industry. The Big Window Forum is taking place in Pavilion No. 8 as part of the specialized industry programme of KazBuild. The forum featured the panel session «Kazakhstan’s Construction Industry: New Market Rules and the Development of Domestic Production» organized with the participation of School of Windows+.
Throughout the day, seminars and master classes by Professional TANU Association and TECHNONICOL were also held, demonstrating the practical application of modern construction materials, technologies and professional solutions.
In the following days, the programme will be expanded with a number of specialized events. Tomorrow, September 3, KAZBUILD MATERIALS FORUM 2026 and KAZBUILD URBAN FUTURE FORUM 2026 will take place. Among the invited international experts are Paolo Matteuzzi, Director at ZHA Architects, as well as Yevgeniya Pozigun, Director of the architectural practice Mangera Yvars Architects. The industry programme will continue with the «Installer Show» by School of Windows+, while Aquatherm Almaty will host the 4th «Tekhnar PRO Kazakhstan 2026» Installer Championship. The final day will feature MARKETING DAY by School of Windows+, as well as specialized seminars and presentations by companies.
Holding two international exhibitions at the same venue makes it possible to bring together construction, architecture, design, interior design, engineering systems, energy efficiency and modern technological solutions within a single business environment. The combination of a large-scale international exhibition with an expert programme creates opportunities not only to present products and technologies, but also to engage in substantive discussions on regulatory transformations, investment priorities and further development directions for Kazakhstan’s construction sector.
