KIOGE 2026 CONCLUDES ITS ANNIVERSARY SEASON, BRINGING TOGETHER 6,567 VISITORS AND REPRESENTATIVES FROM 58 COUNTRIES AT ONE VENUE
FROM SEPTEMBER 30 TO OCTOBER 2, 2026, ALMATY HOSTED THE 30TH KAZAKHSTAN INTERNATIONAL OIL & GAS EXHIBITION AND CONFERENCE — KIOGE 2026.

Over three days, the anniversary event welcomed 6,567 unique visitors, bringing together representatives of government bodies, national and international oil and gas companies, industry associations, the expert community, equipment manufacturers and technology solution providers.
Events marking the project’s 30th anniversary held a special place in the KIOGE 2026 programme. The anniversary became an important milestone in the exhibition’s history and provided an opportunity to reflect on three decades of KIOGE’s development through the lives, professional experience and memories of people directly involved in shaping Kazakhstan’s oil and gas industry. A documentary about KIOGE’s 30-year history was produced to mark the occasion, featuring industry executives, experts and veterans. In their recollections, they spoke about the industry’s key stages of development, landmark events and changes over recent decades. This historical account was complemented by the special “KIOGE 30” anniversary publication, bringing together archival materials, significant events and memories shared by members of the professional community whose work had been closely linked to the development of the oil and gas sector and the exhibition itself for many years.
The anniversary programme culminated in a gala ceremony at Almaty Theatre, attended by representatives of government bodies and relevant ministries, executives of leading national and international oil and gas companies, KIOGE partners, and industry leaders and veterans. One of the evening’s central events was a tribute and awards presentation honouring oil and gas industry veterans who had devoted decades of their professional lives to establishing and developing the sector. The ceremony highlighted continuity between generations and the professional community’s contribution to shaping Kazakhstan’s modern oil and gas sector.
The anniversary exhibition occupied Pavilions 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11 of the Atakent Kazakhstan Centre for Business Cooperation and brought together 501 companies, of which 187 represented Kazakhstan and 314 represented international businesses. 34% of exhibitors participated in KIOGE for the first time. National groups represented Austria, Germany, India, Italy, China and Russia.
The international reach of KIOGE 2026 encompassed representatives from 58 countries: Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Bangladesh, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Ghana, Germany, Greece, Georgia, Denmark, Egypt, Israel, India, Indonesia, Iran, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Canada, Qatar, China, Cyprus, Kuwait, Kyrgyzstan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Monaco, Nigeria, the Netherlands, Norway, the UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Romania, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, the USA, Tanzania, Thailand, Turkmenistan, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Czechia, Switzerland, Estonia, South Korea and Japan.
The participants’ broad geographical reach helped advance international professional dialogue and expand business contacts. Over three days, the venue brought together equipment manufacturers, oilfield service companies, major project operators, technology suppliers and industry specialists. Direct B2B and G2B negotiations added a practical dimension to business interaction, with more than 280 meetings held as part of KIOGE.
An important aspect of the international presence was a visit to the exhibition by representatives of diplomatic missions from Austria, Afghanistan, Belarus, Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Germany, India, Iran, Italy, Canada, China, the UAE, the Russian Federation and Ukraine. Members of the diplomatic corps explored the exhibition and learned about the activities of companies from their countries represented at KIOGE, supporting the development of international business ties and cooperation between foreign businesses and Kazakhstan’s oil and gas sector.
Exhibitors themselves also highlighted the practical benefits of participating in the exhibition. Sergey Shatskikh, Deputy Commercial Director of KAZENERGOCABLE JSC, emphasised: “We have been taking part in KIOGE, organised by Iteca, since 2008. Exhibiting every year and showing what we can do and what we have achieved has become a cherished, positive and friendly tradition for us. We held many productive negotiations, including preliminary agreements on future cooperation. This is very encouraging.”
Alongside the exhibition, the 30th anniversary International KIOGE Conference brought together 620 delegates. Speakers represented 12 countries — Azerbaijan, the United Kingdom, Italy, Kazakhstan, Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Malaysia, the Netherlands, the UAE, Poland, the USA and Uzbekistan. A total of 88 speakers took part in the business programme, which featured 13 business events.
The business programme was organised by day and covered key areas of oil and gas sector development, from global integration and upstream operations to digital transformation, gas chemicals, mechanical engineering, ESG, investment and workforce communications.
On September 30, the conference’s central event was the plenary session, “Global Integration: Kazakhstan’s Role in New Energy Value Chains”. The first day also featured the strategic session, “Intelligent Upstream: From Seismic Survey to the Well”; the panel session, “Export Logistics and the Geopolitics of Routes”; the presentation of the KAZENERGY National Energy Report; the panel session, “Low-Carbon Development, ESG and Climate Regulation: New Standards”; the session, “Practical Cases of Digital Transformation in the Oil and Gas Industry: AI, Automation and New Technologies”; and the panel session, “Oil and Gas Equipment Manufacturing and Petrochemicals”.
Another event on the first day was the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Baker Hughes and West Kazakhstan Machine Building Company JSC, aimed at developing cooperation in localising the production of oil and gas equipment in Kazakhstan.
On October 1, the conference continued with the strategic session, “Gas and Gas Chemicals: A Value-Processing Strategy”. The second day’s programme included the panel session featuring oil and gas industry veterans, “Industry Legends on Challenges and Achievements”; the presentation of the 26th WPC Energy Congress (World Petroleum Congress); the panel session, “Kazakhstan’s Energy Future: Investment, Energy Transition and Strategic Opportunities”; the business game by GR Hub Kazakhstan, “Turnkey GR”; and the PR & HR business simulation, “No Stable Ground: How to Balance Conflicting Priorities and Succeed in a World of Uncertainty”.
Alongside the conference programme, a separate professional programme took place directly at the exhibition venue. The conference hall in Pavilion No. 8 hosted more than eight sessions, seminars and presentations open to industry specialists. On September 30, events were held by LMP Project Group CA, KSP STEEL and NC QazaqGaz JSC, and on October 1 by Topan, NCOC, KPO and Tengizchevroil. The presentation of the 26th WPC Energy Congress, scheduled to take place in Astana on June 11–15, 2028, held a special place in the programme.
The third and final day of KIOGE focused on the exhibition and continued direct professional interaction between participants and visitors. Companies had opportunities to meet potential customers and partners, present equipment and technology solutions, exchange contact details and discuss prospects for further cooperation.
Feedback from industry specialists also demonstrates the practical value of visiting KIOGE. Arman Amanzholov, Director of the Contracts and Subcontracts Department at KazStroyService Oil and Gas Construction Company JSC, noted: “This is roughly our sixth visit to the exhibition. This year, the level of organisation has improved, and the exhibition itself has grown in scale. There are many participants, with a particularly strong presence of companies from Russia and China. We found companies of interest to us in our work. We definitely plan to visit the exhibition again next year.”
The anniversary year marked an important milestone in the history of KIOGE. Over three decades, the exhibition and conference have established a lasting international platform for interaction between government, business and the professional community. KIOGE brings together representatives of the oil and gas industry, helps establish new business contacts, showcases technology solutions and provides a forum for discussing the energy sector’s future development.
