THE DEBUT EXHIBITION PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2025 HAS STARTED IN ALMATY — A NEW PLATFORM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF KAZAKHSTAN'S POLYMER AND CHEMICAL INDUSTRY

TODAY, NOVEMBER 12, THE KAZAKH INTERNATIONAL EXHIBITION OF PLASTICS AND CHEMICAL INDUSTRY PLASTEX QAZAQSTAN 2025 OPENED ITS DOORS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ALMATY, AND WILL LAST UNTIL NOVEMBER 14.

The exhibition is a unique platform for industry professionals, bringing together manufacturers, suppliers, and experts to showcase innovations, discuss strategic development directions, and establish business contacts. By combining international experience with local solutions, Plastex Qazaqstan becomes an important venue for knowledge exchange and the promotion of new technologies in the polymer and chemical industry.
Among the participants are 44 companies from 6 countries: Kazakhstan, India, Iran, China, Russia, and Uzbekistan. For the first time, 13 Kazakhstani manufacturers and 31 international companies gathered on one platform, demonstrating a full range of technologies and solutions for the polymer and chemical industry.
The Plastex Qazaqstan exposition covers the entire production cycle — from raw materials and components to finished products. Visitors are presented with modern polymer processing lines, production automation, molds and tooling, composite materials, polyurethanes, rubber technology, solutions for 3D printing, as well as innovative services and technologies. Industry specialists have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the latest innovations, evaluate competitive developments, and establish new business contacts.
The business program of the first day began with a plenary session "Trends in the development of the plastics market in Kazakhstan and key players in international commodity markets." Experts discussed current issues of market formation, import substitution, increasing the added value of products, and the investment potential of the industry. Among the participants were representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, QazIndustry, KAZAKHEXPORT, KPI, as well as leading industrial companies. In his speech, Nurlan Sharipov, Deputy General Director of Samruk Kazyna Contract LLP, spoke about support measures for both existing enterprises that are already producing domestic products and those who are just planning to start production. "If we talk about numbers, since 2018, we have already approved 97 new production projects. This is not only in the field of chemistry, but also in engineering and other industries. The total amount of the fund's contracts is about 450 billion tenge to date. Manufacturers who want to establish production have real opportunities to do so, and at the same time be confident that tomorrow the fund's companies will successfully produce products," noted N. Sharipov. Tolegen Moldakhmetov, General Director of the Chemical Industry Association KAZKHIMIA, in his speech highlighted the need for a state program with clearly defined support measures for the chemical industry: "Measures related to the development of future exports are important. No matter how you look at it, the Kazakhstan market is small. More than 70% of all exports in the chemical industry are either raw materials or primary processing products. That is, we mainly import products with high added value, but do not export them. And it shouldn't be like that."

After the plenary session, the official opening ceremony of the exhibition and an overview VIP tour of the exposition took place, where participants could see the latest innovative solutions and exchange experiences with colleagues from different countries.
Special attention on the first day was given to thematic sessions. The session "Development of local production: the role of chemistry in automotive engineering" brought together representatives of Astana Motors Engineering, Allur, SIBUR, Silleno LLP, KPI, the Kazakhstan Automobile Union, and others to discuss issues of production localization, the introduction of innovative materials, and strengthening interaction between raw material suppliers and automakers. Another panel "Chemistry in construction: challenges and solutions" addressed the tasks of import substitution, increasing the efficiency of paint and varnish production, and polymer pipes, as well as public-private partnership in the industry.
In addition to the business program, the exhibition features specialized areas: B2B Zone, intended for business negotiations and establishing partnerships; ECO Zone, where recycling and sustainable production technologies are presented; and the innovative Robo Zone from Astana Hub, showcasing solutions in industrial automation and 3D printing. These zones create unique opportunities for interaction between science, business, and education, stimulating the introduction of advanced technologies and forming an ecosystem of industrial innovation in Kazakhstan.
On the second day of the exhibition, November 13, participants' attention will be focused on sustainable development issues. The central event will be a practical ESG workshop, as well as thematic sessions "Development of ESG taxonomy for Kazakhstan's plastic industry" and "Life cycle assessment of plastics (LCA) as a tool for managing sustainable production," where experts will discuss the implementation of international standards of environmental responsibility and increasing the sustainability of the industry.
Plastex Qazaqstan 2025 has already proven its significance from the first day as a key platform for industry professionals, combining international experience, local developments, and modern technologies.
